Camp Jeanne d’Arc is seeking men and women (18+) who are hardworking, honest, and respectful to join our Support Staff team. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to live and work in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains while building real friendships and being part of something bigger than yourself.

What You’ll Receive:

  • Starting at New York State hourly wages ($16.50/hour, 30–40 hours per week)
  • $200 travel stipend
  • We offer optional on-site housing—perfect for those who want to stay immersed in camp life—or you can commute if you prefer.
  • All meals provided (and yes—the food is great!)
  • 8–10 weeks of meaningful, hands-on experience (flexible dates available)

 

The Work:
Support Staff are essential to camp life. The work is hands-on and important. Responsibilities may include:

  • Food preparation and behind-the-scenes kitchen work
  • Maintenance and general upkeep
  • Dishwashing and kitchen support
  • Cleaning camp facilities
  • Laundry services

This role is a great fit for someone who takes pride in doing a job well and enjoys being part of a team that keeps everything running.

Average age of participants: 18-25

Days off: One day off a week

Pay: Starting at New York State minimum wage ($16.00) + $200 travel stipend. Employees will be paid weekly. 

Travel to Camp: Best (and most affordable) way to travel to camp is to fly into a NYC area airport and bus to Plattsburgh. Camp will pick you up from the bus stop in Plattsburgh.

Day-off Activities: Take a canoe or a paddle board and explore beautiful Chateaugay Lake.  Take the small bus into Plattsburgh to go to restaurants and shopping.

Transportation while at Camp: Camp will not provide you a vehicle while working at camp but will provide a ride to the local bus station that takes you into Plattsburgh, NY.

Living accommodations: You will be sharing a cabin with other participants of the same sex. You will be sharing a bathroom and likely sharing a room. Cabins are clean but rustic.
