Our Tennessee State Parks (TSP) are among the most beautiful in the United States. We have an outstanding opportunity to work in a beautiful environment at Roan Mountain State Park in Roan Mountain, TN. The Park has a conference center, vacation cabins, a campground, bathhouses, a visitor’s center, and picnic shelters.
This position requires skilled landscaping and equipment operation and involves custodial duties for the campground bathhouses during peak season. The ideal candidate should demonstrate experience in progressively responsible skilled labor or trades work, a background in building and grounds maintenance (including heating and refrigeration systems), and proficiency in the safe operation and maintenance of landscaping and maintenance equipment. Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of landscaping and maintenance equipment, such as mowers, tractors, chainsaws, and trimmers, to perform general grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, and debris removal.
- Assist with building maintenance, including basic repairs to heating, refrigeration, and facility systems.
- Support seasonal maintenance activities as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Operate a wide range of tools and equipment in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Perform routine janitorial duties to maintain clean and safe facilities. Collect and remove trash from facility grounds and surrounding areas to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
- Collaborate with team members by sharing technical knowledge and supporting group project completion.
