The Alternative Project Delivery Division is seeking an Engineer team member to support the development of Design-Build projects using engineering practices and principles to advance the construction delivery program.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
• Assisting in delivery of Alternate Project Delivery Programs.
• Assisting in the selection, procurement, negotiation and administration of complex Design-Build transportation projects.
• Providing input and assisting in developing policies, procedures, practices and guidance for the Alternate Project Delivery Program and procurement of professional services contracts; as well as in accordance with state and federal procurement laws.
• Monitoring compliance to ensure conformance to the policy, procedures and state and federal procurement laws.
• Supporting the Division in the completion of various administrative related tasks such as budgeting, review of contract task orders and task order invoices.
• Assisting in monitoring compliance to ensure conformance to the policy, procedures and state and federal procurement laws.
Minimum Qualifications
• Work experience in transportation engineering, highway construction, report writing, developing of policies and procedures, contract development and contract administration.
• Working knowledge of VDOT’s procurement process, FHWA’s policies, and the Virginia Public Procurement Act.
• Working knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices as related to transportation project design, construction and operations, standards, specifications and materials.
Additional Considerations
• A combination of training, experience or education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field desired.
• Project management skills; team building and leadership skills; presentation skills and building effective peer relationships desired.
