Mechanical Engineer
Science, Engineering, Management Solutions, LLC is a small business here in Albuquerque, NM. We are made up of skilled scientists, engineers and technicians that specialize in directed energy and pulse power systems. We are looking for innovation, engineers who can perform challenging, interesting and dynamic solutions, specifically in Mechanical Engineering. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who is able to take a project from the conceptual stage through to completion, taking into account budgeting and operational considerations.
The candidate must have good communication skills, an ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, fit well within a team, and be willing to expand into technical areas without prior experience. The candidate must have excellent prioritization and project development skills. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of SolidWorks CAD software and drafting procedures.
Duties will include:
· Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish a system design.
· Supports the development, maintenance, and/or modification of system, component and installation designs.
· Performs and documents structural analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
· Supports system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation.
· Perform initial and ongoing design reviews.
· Deliver documentation offering a critical analysis and suggestions for correcting errors.
· Collaborate with Project Managers to develop an accurate accounting of all engineering hours required for various types of projects.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college
· This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
· Security Clearance is required.
· Working in a SolidWorks PDM environment.
Desired Qualifications
· At least 2,000 hours of SolidWorks experience, including detail and assembly design, incorporating fit, form, and functionality of designs.
· ANSYS FEA experience with optimizing design through shock and vibration analysis.
· Design and Drafting to ANSI Standard Y14.5.
· Experience using Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
· Some experience with configuration control of documents.
· Ability to effectively work on multiple tasks with changing priorities and interruptions.
· PhD or MS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college.
