
System Admin
Summary of Position
The Systems Administrator will work with the Infrastructure, Application Developers & Telecom staff to support the company’s entire IT environment, including both on premise virtualization technologies as well as Azure. The Systems Administrator will work closely with various IT Infrastructure teams to ensure the cloud infrastructure aligns with the company's needs and compliance standards.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Completes software installations, integrations & testings for both custom and commercial software installations.
Updates and maintains Azure Entra ID, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Storage solutions.
Researches, troubleshoots and documents complex system issues including Azure services and infrastructure.
Plans, documents, implements, maintains, upgrades, and manages private and Azure environment setup, configurations, and procedures.
Administers and maintains security protocols and measures to ensure data security on premises and within the Azure cloud environment.
Ensures Tier 2 problem resolution, software planning & installation, hardware set-up, integration, and testing.
Participates in DevOps Engineering teams within Agile with Scrum processes.
Provides system monitoring, log analysis, patching, spam filter, and rule development for antivirus/malware.
Utilizes helpdesk ticketing system to track progress and trends, as well as documenting processes and solutions.
Works with external vendors and internal clients in the resolution of server hardware and software issues, and in the implementation of internal & external projects.
Collaborates with IT teams to integrate Azure cloud services with other parts of the organization's IT infrastructure.
Coordinates with external vendors and consultants on Azure-related projects.
Prepares reports on cloud usage, performance, and costs.
Requires on-call shift support and occasional travel to company projects.

Required Education/Certification
Associates Degree and/or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Required Experience
3-5 years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years focused on cloud technology
Skills Required
- Experience configuring, installing, and supporting most of the key network services, including DNS& DHCP.
- Good working knowledge of TCP/IP and other IP protocols.
- Strong understanding of server hardware, Windows Server 2008, 2012 & 2016 operating systems, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and enterprise antivirus.
- Knowledge of cloud computing and Azure services, features, and deployment options.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communicative skills, quick learner, self-motivated, patient, and be able to work in stressful situations, and willing to work flexible hours.
- Experience with Active Directory, SQL Server and backup software such as Veeam & Backup Exec are a plus.
- Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages.
- Technical knowledge of Azure Services
- Time Management and Project Management Skills
- Experience administering and maintaining vMware ESX/ESXi virtual servers and hosts are a plus.
